Formula to add numbers in Excel

You can create a simple formula to add in your (Excel) worksheet. Simple formulas always start with an equal sign (=), followed by constants that are numeric values and calculation operators, such as a plus (+), minus (-), asterisk (*), or an ampersand. superimpose (/)

Please watch an example of a simple recipe.

  1. On the worksheet (Excel), click the cell in which you want to enter the formula.

  2. Type an = (equal sign) followed by the constant and operator (up to 8192 characters) you want to use in the calculation.

    For example, type =1+1

    note:

    • instead of typing the constant in your formula You can select the cells that contain the values that you want to use. and enter operators between selectable cells

    • It follows the standard order of arithmetic operations, multiplication, and division before addition and subtraction.

  3. Press Enter (Windows) or Return (Mac).

Use AutoSum

You can use AutoSum to quickly sum columns or rows or numbers. Select the cell next to the number you want to sum, click auto sum on the tab home keep pressing Enter (Windows) หรือ Return (Mac) ก็เสร็จแล้ว!

when you click auto sum Excel automatically enters a formula (that uses the SUM function) to sum numbers.

note: You can also type ALT+= (Windows) or ALT+COMMAND+= (Mac) into the cell, and Excel will automatically insert the SUM function.

Here is an example To add the numbers for January in this entertainment statement, select cell B7, the cell below the number column, and then click auto sum The formula appears in cell B7 and Excel highlights all of the cells to be combined.

note:

  • To sum a column of numbers Select the cell below the last number in the column. To sum a row of numbers Select the next cell to the right.

  • When you're done creating the formula For example, if you copy the formula in cell B7 to cell C7, the formula in C7 automatically adjusts to its new location and calculates the number in C3:C6.

  • You can also use auto sum with multiple cells at once. For example, you can highlight both cells B7 and C7, and then click AutoSum. and sum both columns at the same time
